It's unfortunate. The only reason there's friction between them is the DoT's reputation for ignoring community advocacy and taking a "take it or leave it" approach to major transpo projects (see also the saga with the Scajaquada Corridor Coalition).
I suspect their "listening sessions" are a farce.

There are essentially two camps.
There's the Restore Our Community Coalition, which has been advocating for the neighborhood for decades & originally helped conceive the cap plan with the DoT, and the East Side Parkways Coalition, which was created by other residents in opposition to the cap plan.

There have definitely been great musicians in the past that were very religious and leaned right at times - Johnny Cash in particular comes to mind - but the current culture wars / MAGA movement is so bereft of creativity and humanity that no self-respecting musician wants to be associated with it.

Minneapolis has a reputation for being bitterly cold but it's in the 40's over there while we dipped negative so take that for what you will.

Well, that's better than something bursting underground or in a wall cavity I would say. I'm always worried my water line going to the upstairs is the one that will go during a cold snap.
At least you'll get some new plumbing out of the ordeal if the existing is older pipe.
