The Anthropic settlement was a fun way to find out that my previous publisher did not copyright any of my six books with them, as was contractually required, and if it's true we're getting 3k for book, that's 18k I get to watch disappear into the ether. Hooray!

Just finished the first draft of the YA fantasy book. It's not very good, which is fine, because it's a first draft, but I can't wait to get back in there and make it work.

Onward to Assassins 4, which, calling it now, will have the biggest action sequence I've ever written.

I have written roughly 30,000 words in the last two weeks, on a project I don't even have a contract for, and I feel good about that. Thank you for listening.

I am most of the way through the first draft of a YA fantasy book, which I'm writing for my daughter, and I really didn't think it would come together, and it is, and, anyway, that's fun.

So thrilled to see ALTER EGO out in paperback today!

Eternally proud of this standalone sequel to SECRET IDENTITY, which was an immediate USA TODAY-bestseller, Anthony Award-nominee, and got rave reviews from all over.

I expect quite a few racisms to happen. Perhaps some misogynies too because Trump never fails to disappoint the human race in a general sense.

An important and necessary read for writers out there.
Did you read my post from last week about how contract woes caused me to withdraw an accepted story from F&SF, ending my 54-year quest to be published in that magazine? But wait (as the saying goes) — there's more! Scroll down at the link for an update. www.scottedelman.com/wordpress/20...

Just in case anyone was wondering, the fourth AA book will be called CITY OF KILLERS and it will be set in Bangkok and you all have this trip to Thailand to thank.

Hate that we live in a world where the common person loses their entire shit over what will happen to the millionaires and billionaires. Like we need those taxes they’re not paying in the first place. Anyone who defends the rich is a shill and a dope, full stop.

Wandering the Chiang Mai night markets. An Indian man tries to pull me into a custom suit shop.

Me: “New York.”

Him (points at me and smiles): “Mamdani!”

And we got people out here telling us this election isn’t historic.

As excited as I am to read stirring stories of Mamdani’s win, where are all the scathing takedowns of Cuomo? I want to read about how he is an embarrassment and a failure and his career is over. I want to inject that feeling into my VEINS.
