I spent a delightful couple of hours with Henry Halfhead this week and can heartily recommend you do similar.

And if you figure out how to make toilet spaghetti, let me know.
There's nothing quite like Henry Halfhead, a possession puzzle sandbox where you can grow a tree, boil eggplant, and (allegedly) make toilet spaghetti

again, we do -- i do -- the problem is systemic in a way that "just write about it" does not and cannot solve. the whole entire surrounding support structure for distribution and readership has changed in such a way that it's not the same now as it was in 2023 as it was in 2019 as it was in 2012.

not what i'm saying. i'm saying: i want people to read about cool things, and if they can't even see the thing they won't be able to read it. it's just not the same gauntlet as it was before.

love games. love small teams! i'm not even talking numbers; i'm talking visibility

we take more swings than most, but the ultimate goal is to serve the audience not developers

if you write a story in 15 minutes with a YT embed and anything less than ~350 words nobody will ever see it or read it in 2025

Learned that I am being laid off from Heart Machine, and will be leaving the studio later this month.

Do you need a contractor? I've got a track record of leading scope-friendly script revisions late in dev. I have also done a lot of consulting on new IPs and pitches/demos. Feel free to DM me!

DREAM INTERVIEW ACHIEVED
I spoke with Makoto Yukimura about penning the final volume of Vinland Saga. We also spoke candidly about the J. Cole "I have no enemies" meme, my procrastinated tattoo idea, the state of the world, and how being strong means being kind. gizmodo.com/vinland-saga...

my father in law asked me about this once because he thought there was some ideological cabal at work within gaming journalism and i absolutely ripped him a new one and had to explain all the ways it directly impacted me and how scary that was AND how lucky i was as a cis white dude during it

it's extremely low down the list of grievances but still also mad that bluesky is going to end up making me explain lowtax to a lot of people this coming week

thatgamecompany (Journey, Flower) made an animated film, Sky: The Two Embers, for it's latest game, Sky: Children of the Light.

...but it doesn't quite have the same magic, and I suspect an interactive element is core to the spells the company has previously cast.

Me for re:frame #19:
Sky's the limit
Sky: The Two Embers burns bright in spurts before smoldering out.
