The media server is getting quite the upgrade tomorrow. A tuner for watching broadcast TV with Plex and a modern GPU for low to mid range games (it's connected to the living room TV) and transcoding when necessary. Gonna have to figure pass through for Docker for Unmanic...

I was pretty enthralled by the Cedar Waxwing flock in Hackberry tree. It was neat to watch. What wasn't neat was to absolute necessity of washing my car after they departed. Still pretty cool though.

I'm taking tonight off from the dumpster fire that is our timeline to celebrate my daughter's 21st by taking her to #s. If you're from Houston you know. All of my kids wanted to come here on their 21st because they heard my stories (cautionary tales) from when the were old enough to appreciate them.

I wish I had known more about Docker networking before setting up my homelab. I sorted it all out yesterday but when you've got 30+ containers and never really thought about the networking things can get a little complicated. It's all cleaned up now with three distinct networks.

I gotta say every episode of Starfleet Academy is better than the last. Any skepticism I had is completely gone. I'm all in and enjoying it.

All of my Meta accounts are in the process of being deleted. I couldn't get everything to backup so I'll have to accept that I'm losing some of the history. I don't think that history matters in the grand scheme of things. There's some stuff that I'll lose out on.

I absolutely love my friends in meatspace. I just wish I had a couple of folks that understand the scale of pebibytes and exbibyte or even what those are. I would love to occasionally be able to lament about work with someone who understands the scope of what I actually do.

Episodes 3 and 4 of Starfleet Academy did not disappoint. I think the show is finding its footing. Of course the haters are coming out of the woodwork but at least here on BS it's simple to just block them. I did have to tell Google News to stop showing me GFR...

Lamb stew in the oven. Cannot wait to eat this. Fresh sage is always a flavor bomb in a stew and trying anchovy paste for the umami side of things. Yellow potatoes so they survive the stewing process better, onions and shallots (wish I had thought of leeks) along with carrots.
