Nigel Farage accuses teachers of "poisoning our kids" on race issues.

Here's a reminder of what teachers and fellow pupils at Farage's own school remember of his own views on that subject.

An amazing scheme that should also be set up in this country- UBI for artists to be able to create & generate work, which fuels a huge industry & the economy, & of course make sure to have art in all our lives + for that art also not be created just by 1 segment of the population
gadgetpatch.bsky.social
Incredible news!

If the scheme stays the same, seems like it would apply to any creative workers paying taxes and living in the Republic of Ireland.

Uses a broad definition of arts that covers a lot of work too.

For the purposes of the BIA scheme a Creative Arts Worker is defined as follows:

“A creative arts worker is someone who has a creative practice and whose creative work makes a key contribution to the production, interpretation or exhibition of the arts. “Arts” means any creative or interpretative expression (whether traditional or contemporary) in whatever form, and includes, in particular, visual arts, theatre, literature, music, dance, opera, film, circus and architecture, and includes any medium when used for those purposes”.

All applicants must be: 18 years of age or older, in a position to evidence their creative practice or career in the arts, based in the Republic of Ireland, tax compliant The following list provides examples of the types of artists and creative arts workers who are eligible. This list is for illustrative purposes only and is not exhaustive.

To understand the scale of it, since the July 2024 election he's earned roughly £100k more as a brand ambassador for Direct Bullion than Starmer gets as PM.

Pam Bondi admits she spoke to Apple to "get the ICEBlock app taken down." Sounds an awful lot like coercion to suppress disfavored speech to me. A clear violation of the 1st Amendment.

Installing someone like Bari Weiss as the head of a major news organization isn’t even about profit or longevity. In effect it’s about continuing to shrink the traditional news industry smaller and smaller and weaker and weaker and less and less journalism based until it ceases to exist

The closer than the Tories get to Reform, the more it makes sense for Labour to leave them to it and head back towards the centre. Stop bashing immigrants 24/7 and concentrate on the important stuff.

Stephen Miller uses a fascist playbook that is always the same: invent “leftwing terrorism,” smear judges and prosecutors, then demand unchecked state power. This is not security; it is authoritarianism cloaked in fearmongering—an assault on democracy itself. #DemocracyUnderSiege

AES is a major power provider for Big Tech companies building out data centers.
