Hello dear followers 🌺
Just that you know, my politics is deeply rooted in anticolonial African/Black feminism, which includes supporting all the Freedom Fighters around the world and a deep hate against neoliberalism ✊🏾.

The US has the highest maternal mortality of any developed country … and it’s about to get a lot worse.

Why? Pregnant women are afraid to go to the hospital for care.

They’re labouring at home alone because ICE will grab them as soon as they give birth.

This is dystopian.

Pristine nature’ is an anti-Indigenous oxymoron, so stop using it.

Nature is a messy, interconnected web of kin. The only reason you think you are separate from it is because colonizers invented that separation to extract from you and from the land without remorse.

These are concentration camps. And these are the numbers they're comfortable sharing.
This is the sixth death in ICE custody in 18 days. This isn’t enforcement, it’s a system that cages people, outsources care, and shrugs when they die. Abolish ICE.

Glad to see this roundtable on Colonisations Notre Histoire out!
It was great to read Rose Ndengue, Robert Aldrich, Jennifer Boittin and Brett Rushforth look at the volume from different perspectives, and to have the opportunity to respond to what such a project can and cannot do
Brilliant round table online ahead of print from @frenchhistory.bsky.social on “Colonisations: notre histoire”, a history in reverse of France and empire, written by 268 contributors (!!!)

This wording choice just infuriated me for this reason - ICE has been doing evil shit for 22 years - to say "now become" suggests only certain people matter bsky.app/profile/acyn...
AOC: This has now become what we feared most about ICE for a long time—that it would be used as an anti-civilian force with no accountability. At the end of the day, what we saw today was a murder, and murders in cold blood need to be prosecuted.

Your reminder that what happened to Renee Nicole Good is something that happens regularly in America. This is not new, but it is an expanded version of militarized people targeting Black people in particular.

From ICE detention to murder with impunity, we've been doing it. Now it's broadened.

A woman in Saskatchewan needs surgery for a parathyroid issue and is being offered MAiD instead.

There’s no one in the province who can perform the procedure and the government won’t pay to send her elsewhere.

This is why disability advocates warn about assisted dying

I will be the first to admit I couldn’t understand why anyone would oppose Assisted Dying… and then I became disabled and had it “offered” to me.

It’s not compassionate when there’s coercion.

It’s not dignified when it’s offered in lieu of care.

Listen to disabled people.
