Here's the breakdown of abstentions and votes against:

I need to add "disappointed to see Labour cllrs voting against this".
Labour, LibDems and Tories blocking renewable energy - and one lone sane Green vote...

bsky.app/profile/matt...
No surprise to see four Tories vote against a solar farm during a climate emergency... but the rest

3 Labour votes against:
Rachel Crouch
Michael Brooker
Andrew Lyon

3 Lib Dem absentions:
David Melvin
Alistair Wray
Dan Levy

2 Lib Dem votes against:
Phil Godfrey
Steve Cosier

what's their excuse?

Reform: Stop hiding from press scrutiny!
Nigel Farage says he welcomes freedom of speech, even if people find it offensive. Surely that should apply to freedom of the press too? So why have Reform's Nottinghamshire councillors - who control ...

Angela Rayner accidentally pays less tax than she should have, resigns, and the media gives her hell.

Nigel Farage deliberately pays less tax than he should have, and the media gives him a free pass.

That, right there, is the problem.

Zack Polanski on R4 any questions, giving it large! …and being well received! Especially when he reviewed Farage’s activities…refreshing…. Really wondering about the political polling companies 😉

Well worth a listen….

It's important to assume that Reform in Government would indeed try to do this. The right thing is not to tell the public that this won't happen - so they can therefore vote for Reform without guilt - but rather that a vote for Reform is a vote for the suffering of hundreds of thousands of people.
None of this will ever happen, and it's incumbent on the BBC to at least indicate that everybody who knows anything about this topic says it's a load of baloney. www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

Those Reform nutjobs reminded me:
"Being British is about driving in a German car to an Irish pub for a Belgian beer, grabbing an Indian curry or Turkish kebab takeaway, then going home to sit on Swedish furniture & watch American shows on a Japanese TV, while being suspicious of anything foreign."

Why is this government so cowardly? The Reform narrative is so thin and should be easy to counter.
No10 spokesman not prepared to criticise anything about Farage speech today.

Not his description of "invasion", not his prediction that the UK on brink of civil war, not plans to pay the Taliban or Iran to take back migrants, or indeed to rule out doing so themselves.

The Green Party has higher favourability ratings than any other party.
We’re now the *only* party with a positive net rating!
That broad appeal was crucial to the seats we won last year & - with your votes - that's what Ellie & I plan to build on to win many more!

WHY the *fuck* is a party political broadcast by Nigel Farage being misreported as "Breaking News"?
We need a well-ordered, efficient and safe asylum system, as we have for people from Ukraine and Afghanistan. Many people in this country are ready to welcome refugees. And as for leaving the @echr.coe.int - this is the last thing we need when threatened with a far-right government.
💚 it is not illegal to seek asylum
💚 most people who seek asylum win their cases because their need is genuine
💚the backlog of people caught up in the inefficiency of the asylum system is caused by the policy choices of previous governments

A reminder: Asylum seekers are in hotels because of a huge application backlog that the gov't must work through. Robert Jenrick - now, bursting with creative solutions - processed applications slowly ***on purpose*** as a deterrent.

Here he is, as Immigration Minister two years ago, saying so. ~AA
