Like, I’m sorry but if all or most of your posts are intended to bring bad/ugly/hateful things to my attention, I don’t need that and will unfollow you. Even if I like you. The bad stuff does not need your help to propagate.
I mean, it’s literally Starship Troopers, so

Replaying Red Dead 2 because I, for some reason, stopped playing it before finishing it back in 2018. I reach Chapter 5 … and suddenly remember why I stopped playing it back in 2018.

The funnest social media debates are the ones where the truth is unknowable so everyone has an equal chance of being right and damn if that doesn’t make you want to dig in and double down.

Today I’m seeing a guy about fixing my two-year-old roof that’s leaking. Tomorrow, another guy, about replacing a fence gate that’s fallen apart. Home ownership requires being in a constant state of wondering what will fail next.

This is an amazing story, excellently reported and flawlessly told.
Police spent more than 50 days searching a lake for Ryan Borgwardt, a kayaker they assumed had drowned. Then they told his wife that they’d come to believe something different. Jamie Thompson spoke with the people involved in the case that rattled a Wisconsin town. theatln.tc/EpGemzk9

This is an accidentally honest answer. What she's saying in code is:
"The President is a misogynist, petulant bully. You've all seen him be a misogynist, petulant bully. And lots of voters out there are also misogynist or petulant or bullies and that's why they like him."
Q: What did the president mean when he called a reporter "piggy"?

LEAVITT: Look, the president is very frank & honest with everyone in this room. You'll all seen it yourself. You've all experienced it yourselves. And I think it's one of the many reasons the American people reelected this president

Years ago, before AI could reliably transcribe without errors, I worked with a freelancer who would transcribe my interviews. Unbeknownst to me, they were becoming increasingly frustrated by the volume and pace of my reporting.
Say what you will about the generative side of AI, but machine learning being able to cheaply generate very accurate transcriptions of audio interviews has been a game changer for my working life

Was stuck in what to play, so I picked up Red Dead 2 again. I have to say, it’s pretty great for a 7 year old game.

This.
I've had this chat with PR people and they know that supporting smaller sites and freelancers makes sense and would help build a healthier games media.

The problem is game publishers pretty much exclusively want GI cover stories or an IGN First and anything smaller isn't worth it.
I don't understand this mentality as long as the person/website has reputable people. How does it hurt you to provide a code? With how hard it is to get publicity for games of all sizes even "small" coverage seems like it would only help?

The point at which you’re splitting hairs over how exactly young a child needs to be in order to call it pedophilia is the point at which your moral high ground vanished into the rearview miles ago.

My takeaway from every new Epstein revelation is that some powerful people victimized many powerless young women, many more knew, some actively enabled it--and we're still being told that MeToo and accountability for sexual violence have gone too far

A useful thing to remember with the whole AI art thing is that people fucking haaaaate that artists “get” to make art while they have to go “to work.” You can see it with people losing their shit over artists charging for commissions or berating them for not accepting “for exposure” jobs.
