I like the piece, but have you considered that animism as a term used in this way (regression)comes from the idea that animism is primitive (blackness) as opposed to western monotheistic civilisation (whiteness)? With the result that fx indigenous ecological knowledge is disqualified?

4000 year old yew tree here in Wiltshire!
So old it’s held together by a concrete block (not the best solution I’m sure).

There is a lot of false hope and stupid optimism in the garden these days. Yes, the sun is up, but it's not warm enough for anything to taste good, even if it's "ripe". Couldn't these plants have done this in June or July, when everything was perfect?

Invented Reality: Nations, money, etc.
Why do we give so much attention to what's been made up and so little to what's given? Maybe it's partly a distraction 🤔. The result is what we might call an 'industrialized mentality'.
