This is a speech designed by someone who thinks you are stupid. He’s explicitly promising to keep the *recently tripled* budget of the DHS gestapo if there are “reforms” that, behind closed doors, their lawyers admit are unenforceable, irrelevant, and even harmful.
Democrats are right to deny funding for DHS absent changes that stop this lawlessness and inhumanity. Changes that Americans are demanding.

Let's talk for a second about what has to change - immediately. And why it's so important that we demand these reforms.

Watching Ponyo (as I do 3 or 4 times a week) looking carefully at and counting the techniques they use to animate windy grass.

Our horrible upstairs neighbor seems to have moved out. She broke up with her boyfriend I guess (he still lives here and isn’t bad). This is such a relief. She used to smoke or vape in her bathroom and the smell carried down to our place. I am pretty confident she is definitely definitely moved out.

I have owned Disco Elysium for years and only this week did I finally finish the game. Wow! That was fun. I played an intellectual and really tried to become a good person, put darkness behind me. It was a good ending.

Maybe next time I’ll be Bad.

I wish I could just tell apple messages that I use a certain emoji for like 25% of the reactions and to include that up top (it's the prayer hands emoji)

I’m soooo grateful I watched Ponyo in a theatre (in Japan in Japanese!) when it came out. I wish I could watch in on a big screen again - the pastel art and the simple animation style - especially the water!! - are so good, when they’re HUGE.

Taking a deep breath and praying I don't forever delete something crucial when I empty the trash on my computer. 1TB hard drive and always juggling between 100-20gb of free space. Agh!!

River is at my feet in the office opening up drawers and shaking bottles of ink. What could go wrong.

I'm animating in Photoshop, just little 2d looping things. Should I learn to use Adobe Animate? Will everything look vectorized if I do that? I like my weird scuzzy line from Photoshop. Is there something else?

I just re-read The City of Illusion by Ursula K Leguin. It’s my favorite of the first 3 Hainish novels, which I love, which are collected in one book called Worlds of Exile and Illusion.

This works
I would never do the "Here comes the airplane" bit to feed my child. Embarrassing for us both. I would calmly explain the importance of adequate nutrition and they will yield to unimpeachable logic

River knows where we keep the remotes and he can reach them and is learning to work them. Scary. Good thing he’s such a good boy. He’s chill about it.

It would be so funny to switch toddlers with someone for a month. Just to see what it’s like. Give the kids a new world to explore. Idk

Hunter Boots is having a "winter sale" but I would recommend: do not buy anything on sale. Just buy the "original tall rain boots" which are not included in that sale. They are the best.

Did you know? Books and prints should be exempt from tariffs. Have the sender write this tariff code on the package: 4901.10.00 is for prints and books. You can see the fee is "FREE" on the harmonized tariff schedule, here: hts.usitc.gov/search?query...

Got hit by tariffs for some prints from Japan. Luckily the cost was very small. BUT I am a little mad because the prints should be exempt from tariffs. Until now everything has cleared without a fee.
