the cycle of “devs working for years to make a game > game launches (and it doesn’t matter how successful it is) > two week waiting period > most of the team laid off” is not only entirely unsustainable but genuinely horrifying
Highguard developer Wildlight has reportedly laid off most of its team, says one a level designer sharing the news of layoffs.
The live service game launched just two weeks ago after being revealed at The Game Awards.

Finished jury duty today and while it was very much the slow drag jury duty is famous for I gotta say the staff, judge, and fellow jurors I interacted with were very nice and funny which is way more than I can say about the first time I had jury duty in college which was miserable

I feel like riot is constantly trying to capture lightning in the bottle a second time and the moment a game doesnt hit the same numbers as league launch theyre ready to drop it. 2xko is the second niche genre they've entered and seemingly be surprised that its a niche audiance
