There simply isn’t a contemporary Woodward and Bernstein in institutional media. There isn’t a climate to allow for it. Investigative journalism is difficult and messy. Mainstream “journalism” wants to commune with power rather than being independent.

I wish reporters and attorneys would demand more details about any metrics being used to define "success of the operation." What would success look like? When will they stop? At what cost to the community? Is it worth the high cost? Will they get pedophiles, fraudsters, or domestic abusers next?...
