It feels Luddite to say this, but probably the boldest thing a news org can do is have a really draconian policy about AI as a signal to the public. Not anti-tech, but rather to apply journalistic skepticism about the tool itself. Social contract: We won't use this unless it makes the news better.

They are banning trans women from female bathrooms, dorms, locker rooms, and sports across campus. They're also cracking down on trans care for minors, though that is unlikely to be broadly impactful since it's a university.

I was riding on top of a humvee in northern kenya (sitting on top of the bags strapped to the roof), on a dirt road. All of a sudden there was a giant log in the road which we swerved around. there were men on the side of the log, I waved, my companion informed me they were probably trying to rob us
