Despite all the laws and rhetoric and violence, the number of people who identify as trans still continues to increase across the country, every year.

Their attacks are escalating precisely because they are afraid and desperate they have failed so far.

It's so funny that like half of trans Bluesky saw this fucking wretched traitor give a bunch of speeches and interviews about how some trans rights have to be sacrificed for the greater good and how you have to form coalitions with transphobes and coddle them because

Moreover, ICE must be destroyed
Sarah McBride talks to the Advocate, blames trans advocates for absolutism, and going directly to Trans 301 when people are just at Trans 101. Doesn't specify whose rights we should throw under the bus but presumably unpopular things like child sports, blockers, etc. @rikiwilchins.bsky.social
Democrat Sarah McBride on her approach to expanding trans acceptance in Congress — and America
“I recognize that it’s not viscerally comforting for some people in my own community who feel the indignities that I am facing vicariously,” Delaware U.S. Rep. Sarah McBride told The Advocate.

it's kinda crazy how many Dem governors released statements for TDOR while simultaneously having their hands caught deep in the "complicit in the systemic torture and rape of trans women" jar
While Maryland Gov. Moore posted about Trans Day of Rememberance, his state was torturing a trans woman by denying her hormones and housing her with men--according to her lawyer--for 2 months.

All of this for "hate crime" charges from alleged vandalism of a trans symbol near a Catholic school.

this was and still is one of the most horrifying articles I've ever written. I don't recommend reading it if you're trans, but you should send it to your cis friends who don't understand how bad things are for trans women even in "safe" states for us.

Radaskiewicz-King was charged under hate crime statutes meant to deter violent symbolism such as nooses or swastikas--implying that a trans symbol is hateful or violent against Catholics. Those charges were dropped.

The judge denied her bail for 'public safety,' despite harming no human.

This case shows how Maryland's image as a refuge for trans people does not extend to marginalized trans women.

This April, Trans News Network reported on a lawsuit by trans women in Maryland prisons who had been tortured, intentionally placed in danger of rape, and denied hormones.
"Absolute Terror”: Lawsuit Alleges Maryland Trans Prisoners Face Rape, Medical Detransition, Defied Court Orders, Retaliation, and Torture, Despite AG Brown’s Condemnation of Trump Prison Policy
Gov. Moore's prisons defied a judge’s order to follow standards to keep a woman safe from rape, as AG Brown has mounted "vigorous" defense against her lawsuit and lawmakers sideline meaningful reform

The myth is circulating again that it was more radical otg activists and assimilationist gays ("boots and suits") teaming up that was responsible for queer communities' gains late '60s on.

The history doesn't back this up. What actually happened is more revealing. 🧵

Let's start with Stonewall...

And like, make no mistake, this whole thing smacks of gender. A lot of it's about eschewing care work and feminine signifiers and anything that registers as 'weak' to a ludicrious masculine ideal.

I feel like the last couple decades of "is representation good or not?" discourse missed more important questions of "how fragile is representation?", "what do we do when multiple industries eliminate it as an intentional move against us?" and "how can we sustain queer artists when shit goes south?"

I wonder how many trans women have been killed by medical negligence over the fearmongering influence of "blood clots" from estrogen

I don't know anyone who's even gotten blood clot from normal dosages of estrogen, let alone die from one

But denying a transition with proper E levels is deadly.

Not taking HRT is unsafe for trans people who need it, with or without medical supervision lol

Why is the risk of dysphoria never weighed against the risk of taking a natural hormone?

(hormones which are actually much safer than the OTC meds Katie mentions!)
i would love to know what "risks" people are citing when they say that hrt is "unsafe" without medical supervision. do you consult your doctor when you take advil or tylenol?

it's one thing to see cis people propagate fearmongering lies and disinformation, but trans people should not be doing that!

McBride tried several times to be a "sensible moderate" by calling trans rights a distraction and in the Klein interview, blaming trans advocacy for the anti-trans panic, instead of the utter capture of the media.

She didn't have to do that, and she hasn't really walked back her support for Israel.
For my newsletter today, I wrote about why I've changed my mind about Sarah McBride. (I still find plenty to disagree with) www.burnsnotice.com/revaluating-...

Today for Trans Day of Remembrance, don't forget that last month, Gov. Newsom vetoed a bill that would have prevented discrimination against trans people in insurance and allowed people who need hormones to stockpile a year's worth of supply.

He also vetoed a PreP bill that had bipartisan support.

I won't make any assumptions on individual people about McBride that I'm not privy to, but I want to reiterate something I've stated in the paste--

Someone in DC tried to blackmail me to delete posts critical of McBride in July. Don't discount the possibility coercive control or corruption.
It's downright grotesque that the "the transes should be thanking Sarah McBride, actually" pr machine is spinning up on Trans Day of Remembrance.

Anyone going along with it is grotesquely servile. Have an ounce of self-respect, for once.

It does the same for everyone that excused them.
