Failure to properly vet officers resulted in serial rapists within Met ranks, review finds

'If AI is going to shape our digital future, then women’s safety, dignity and participation cannot be treated as optional extras. The question isn’t whether the technology can do this. It’s whether we’re willing to insist that it shouldn’t.'

'It’s the logical outcome of years of warnings being ignored. Warnings from women’s organisations who have been saying, clearly and consistently, that new technologies would be used to reproduce old harms unless governments and platforms acted decisively.'

'This isn’t a sudden failure of one rogue AI system. On Grok's launch, xAI positioned it as a more ‘unfiltered’, 'rebellious,' and boundary-pushing AI, explicitly designed to answer ‘spicy’ questions that other models would reject. '

'What’s striking, though, is how predictable this all feels.

Grok doesn’t represent a new category of harm. It simply exposes, in real time, the gaps women’s organisations have been flagging for years.'

'Ordinary photos are being manipulated, clothes digitally removed, bodies altered and sexualised, then shared without consent. It’s invasive, humiliating, and for many women deeply unsafe.'

With sickle cell anaemia now the fastest growing genetic condition in the country, we need more capacity, not less.

Closing the Sickle Cell Day Unit means delayed care, worse health outcomes, and more pressure on the NHS.

Horrendous. They haven't said a word. Considering all the fanfare they made about their violence against women and girls' strategy last month, they are a disgrace too.

Elon Musk's AI bot is still churning out sexualised photos of women & children every 30 seconds or so upon request. I found myself reporting CSAM last night until 2am. I'm so angry about it all. There needs to be consequences for both the men requesting it and Musk, who has encouraged & co-signed it

Let’s not forget Gaza in 2026, moves like banning Oxfam & MSF are designed to cause more damage and kill more civilians.
“Let’s not call it deregistration, let’s call it a death sentence  —  that is exactly what it would be for the Palestinian people,” says @sana.msf.ca, MSF Executive Director, as Israel moves to bar nearly 40 aid groups under new registration rules.
