By baking data directly into a texture, through different channels, you can drive position, scale, and rotation of other elements, unlocking flexible, procedural control for unique effects with optimized performance #UnrealEngine #GameDev #VFX #RealtimeVFX

Been busy with work of late, and I've struggled to look at the internet these days with all the ugly news. My usual momentum with personal work has been disrupted 😩 but I made this lil tiffin box today tho

I've been messing around with liquigen of late, and I really wanted to try creating a real-time fluid dosa cooking sequence. Alack I'm about as bad as getting these perfectly round on the computer as I am IRL

Trying to recreate the lit raindrop effect that made the stormy night scenes in Pacific Rim look so good. I started out with actual volumetric lights and rain particles, but quickly gave up and used an object-stable screenspace rain texture and fake light cones

The idea that 'AI can speed up dev cycles' would require a premise that dev cycles are long because people are taking forever to make assets (so you could replace them with shoddy slop and it'd go faster), which you could only believe is true if you've never actually tried to make a video game
