A quick look into the work our mappers do:
These pillars of some aqueducts start out as a blocky heightmap and is then decorated with lots of little details. That can take quite some time, and is done for all of these!

This is the first time i've tried texturing anything like this. I struggle with regular diffuse painting cause I got unsteady hands and poor control, but pixelating takes away the need for precision so i can just focus on deciding where to put the colors
