One of the best, most articulate, depiction of life in America these days for millions. Very much in the same vein as “the invisible child”, which should tell you how impactful this work will be..
In America today, millions of people are just one medical bill, one missed paycheck, one rent hike away from becoming homeless.

THERE IS NO PLACE FOR US will be out in paperback on March 3.

Important story from Max Kozlov. Loss without replacement of council members is a serious concerns which could be a huge problem in the future, but this is uncertain.
🚨 New from me: Grant review at more than half of NIH's institutes could be frozen by the end of the year.

That's because crucial NIH grant-review panels are slated to be empty at those institutes by Jan 2027.

A wonky bureaucratic problem with big implications.

A short 🧵
Exclusive: key NIH review panels due to lose all members by the end of 2026
Thirteen of the agency’s advisory councils, which must review grant applications before funding is awarded, are on track to have no voting members.

Trump administration: Record-high homelessness is caused not by housing costs but by mental illness and addiction.

Also Trump administration: We're decimating the programs that treat mental illness and addiction.
Last night with no warning, RFK Jr. cancelled up to $2 billion in funding for mental health and substance abuse research and programs administered through SAMHSA.

He and his minions did so because “they no longer believe the defunded programs align with the Trump administration's priorities”.
