In my 20s I met a guy who third shifted data entry for a big corp and was a published author with books in stores - before that I thought having a book in print meant you were SET
I know we know this, but authors need to get better at talking about how they actually make their money. Stop pretending it's from the books.

I would also like to know how much it costs to deport one (1) human being from start to finish. Take the cost of this entire endeavor and divide by deportees and I'll bet the number is STAGGERING.

I watch a lot of YouTube about the right comedy/podcast sphere (thanks elephant graveyard?) and the entire thing is in tatters and free fall - dogs that caught the car and don’t have a next move.

That nyt piece going around ignores one important fact- there is no good or lasting art coming from the transgressive illiberal crowd. None. Their comedy is one note. The music less than that. The movies are forgotten before they come out. The cultural revolution is so busy being anti it isn’t pro.

I always think people who write the Beatles off as boomer nostalgia have maybe heard hey Jude too many times and need to spend some time with the raw urgency of stuff like stop what you’re doing or and your bird can sing.
