OMG that is legitimately horrendous.

LOLTNA at its finest.
If I had to see this absurd, dopey finish to Mike Santana's reign, you have to see it too. 🤼

LOTS of blood of course lol.

Also worth noting that not only did Kyle Larson not lead a single lap in this championship finale, but he hasn't won a race period since Kansas in May, which (I believe) marks the first time under the playoff format that the eventual Cup Series Champion didn't win a single race during the playoffs.
November 3, 2025 at 12:56 AM
I feel really bad for Brad Keselowski too lol. Dude was SO CLOSE to winning that one on old tires.
November 3, 2025 at 12:30 AM
Here's the silver lining: In the non-playoff, point-per-position format (tracked by Racing Reference by the way), Kyle Larson was 11 Points behind William Byron going into Phoenix.

With Byron's late blown tire, that essentially handed the title to Larson, so he is the legitimate champion in 2025.
November 3, 2025 at 12:13 AM
The funniest thing about the finish is that the battle for the win was completely ignored lol. Brad Keselowski nearly won that thing until Ryan Blaney passed him at the last possible second.

Was that the closest finish of the season? Nobody knows!
November 3, 2025 at 12:08 AM
That was such a fascinating restart. Totally agree with the call to go with four tires, but Hamlin just wasn't able to gain any ground at all once they went green. Meanwhile, in front of Hamlin, Larson just shot around the outside on two tires, and that was enough to take the title.
