Excellent to see this article in Tes by Alex Quigley on the ‘Five-a-day’ approach to teaching pupils with #SEND, a framework for inclusive practice that should give hope to a profession working incredibly hard to deliver lessons inclusively.

Inclusion ‘by design’: why it matters and how to do it
With the new Ofsted framework taking a broad view of inclusion, it’s even more important to make teaching inclusive ‘by design’ and not by accident, suggests Alex Quigley

If it feels peaceful, then enjoy! If it feels less positive, give me a shout and I’ll call. ☺️

Disheartening, isn’t it. More voices adding to the call for change can only be a good thing though. We’re always looking for volunteers, if it’s something you’re passionate about. Get in touch and I can include your in the volunteers pool.

In response to this new research, the @histassoc.bsky.social have also written an article on the report, including making multiple articles from TH available so more teachers can make use of the wisdom within. The link is here:

I received a notification today announcing I'd reached an #edublog milestone. When I tentatively started it (to support #TeacherEducation partnership #mentors with common #ITT #ECT #TeacherMentoring challenges), I never imagined it would grow to 93 blogposts!

For c.10years I've supervised #PGCE students who elect to explore representation of women in #history curriculum for their MA research project. Each year the same findings - 50% of the population remains underrepresented (even unacknowledged). This report is going straight on the reading list.

Publication day is here for our @endsexisminschools.bsky.social report: ‘The Great History Heist: Reclaiming Women’s Place in the History Curriculum’ a nationwide research project into the representation and teaching of women in the KS3 history curriculum

We address this in the report, and the challenges us teachers have. It’s why the recommendations call for meaningful change from the DfE. We don’t want ‘women’s history’ to be bolted on. Women’s role in history matters and is worth teaching.

ESIS’ own @susannaboyd.bsky.social is one of the authors of our report. The article here informed some of our recommendations.

The report featured in the Guardian today on the inclusion of women in hustory lessons is really important - lets make women’s voices heard and their actions remembered. www.history.org.uk/secondary/ca...

But for real change, it can’t be teachers alone. That’s why our report included recommendations for the DfE to ensure the systemic issue is addressed. You can read the report here: endsexisminschools.org.uk

Couldn’t agree more. Our report discusses the impacts of curriculum invisibility in the context of the July 2025 DfE report that showed 54% of 11-19 year olds had heard misogynistic comments within that week alone. The report is here if you’d like to read it: endsexisminschools.org.uk
