talk to the local community org and help speed up the situation resolving. We never really talked since then, I'm sure she doesn't remember me. But my lasting impression was of someone who doesn't just blabla talk, but acts. I respect why she's stepping down but Austria will feel the loss :(

She immediately put me in touch with the right contact to help me make sense of it all, and came to Linz herself a week later to

die Kosten "gegessen" - Familienbeihilfe benutzt z.B. Jetzt werden das die Vermieter:innen und Stromanbieter tun, I guess?? Kann man mit so einer Karte überhaupt eine SEPA Lastschrift aufstellen?

My dad, in the 1970s, from a small town, just started uni in Kharkiv: Yep and I'm named after my uncle, who died in WW2 - Peter 🙂
My dad's new Jewish friend, who met him literally that week: Hahhahahaaha idiot, your uncle was called Pinchas.

New law: Parents must be working or registered with the AMS. Current big question in the chats is: I've tried to register with AMS but they don't want me until my child is a bit older. (Too few daycare spots.)

The new law will be until 30.06.2026.
