“In 2010, the IEA estimated that there would be 410 gigawatts (GW) of solar panels installed around the world by 2035. There is already more than four times that capacity, with about half of it in China.”

The global boom in solar — with or without the US
Despite the scepticism about renewables in Washington, falling prices for new panels are making a compelling business case around the world

Wouldn’t be a surprise, but it would be a bummer. Has always felt like a manager that Hiroshima were lucky to land.
Hochi reporting that #Sanfrecce Hiroshima manager Michael Skibbe could leave after this season and is gaining attention from several foreign and domestic clubs.

He's won two Levain Cups and a Super Cup, earned three top-3 J1 finishes and still has a chance at a cup double this year.

Yoshinobu Yamamoto won Games 2, 6 and 7 of the World Series. He threw a complete game in Game 2, six innings and 96 pitches on Friday and came back Saturday to throw 2.2 scoreless innings on 34 pitches and induce the World Series-winning double play. A legendary performance.

It's one thing to lose to Philadelphia… but, man. Not like this, #ChicagoFire. Not like this.
SANFRECCE! Brilliant stuff — decisive in the end.
The Mission is really, really incredible on Halloween. Somehow *this* wasn’t even the coolest thing we stumbled across tonight!
Yes, okay, fine: it was a liiittle obscure.

Time for a (Nintendo) Switch.

This is leadership, as many people have already said; but also another moment where people will wonder why anyone else in a position of power hasn't spoken up. It should not have to be just Sarah Gorden's job.

MLS's playoff schedule is truly idiotic.

It makes no sense that Charlotte/NYCFC played on Tuesday as the second-to-last game to open Round One and now those teams have to turn around and play Game 2 before anybody else.

3 days between games for those teams. 7 days for others.

Utter nonsense.

Why is it that every disappeared US citizen is not front page news? At the very least we should have a little box with a count of the number of citizens who have been taken away and are not locatable and a link to a story with photos & min-bios, just as we used to do with military casually figures.
In Portland, Oregon, masked ICE GOONS abducted and vanished US citizen Gonzalo Catalan last week. Tragically, his family remains unaware of his whereabouts and has not received any communication from him as of today.

Only one single person — the hero filming — took any sort of action. Everybody else just keeps walking, pretending not to see a screaming woman being dragged away. This is so incredibly Nazi Germany.
I'm shaking almost too hard to type. I entered SLC airport and heard screams and cries for help. I could see people gathered around, watching. I sped over to discover this woman face down on the floor, four grown men pushing her down, while she cried "HELP ME" and pled for her child.
Well. We'll always have that 18-inning fever dream.

If judges can refuse to officiate gay weddings, gay defendants should be able to refuse to be heard by those judges. If they can’t be compelled to perform the most heteronormative of functions, why would anyone believe they are capable of putting their biases aside for something with higher stakes?

WOW! The Washington Post obtained the rest of the body cam footage showing that the drunk-driving ICE agent promised to check if the arresting officer's partner was Haitian. "I’m going to run some checks when I get back." He added that he would have him deported if "not legit."
