When folks would add cheap functionality to report abusers -- as on fetlife over a decade ago -- the self-aware abusers spam it with made up garbage, either crudely copying or intentionally making the most fucking trivial lies, in order to "prove a point" or flood the zone and provide cover.
They can, collectively, over time, absolutely obliterate the meaningfulness of public call outs and accusations *and* achieve the coveted power of socially smearing or disposing of their enemies

Oh it brings me back! Posted a tame (for me) thread talking about how Jonah Hill and abusers like him use therapy to develop other means of control and a guy who made his name on theorizing the necessity of violence had a multi-week crash out about it and called me a know-nothing cult leader.
The edgy pro violence direct action guys get nervous when people talk about killing your batterer or rapist and they start suddenly cherry picking black feminism and describing everyone as "carceral" for endorsing feminists acts of militant resistance to patriarchy. Kent State does provide a good point of comparison for this moment because it, too, was not the first incident of its kind. It was the first time the victims were white which sparked more widespread outrage and political action than was ever offered the victims of the Orangeburg Massacre.

I've spent a substantial portion of my adult life looking at the intersection of war and civil society and these Minnesota Volunteers surprised me with their discipline, fortitude, and vision.
Leaderless, but propelled by a collective spirit.

- Organized a city wide general strike
- Maintained nonviolent discipline amidst violence

Landlord is trying to send 3 different sets of people to our house before 9 tomorrow morning. Pretty much immediately tossed the “we’ll give you 24 hours notice” out the window. And also apparently expects us to LEAVE the house during these showings lmao. Fuck no!
There’s someone already coming to see our house on Saturday morning 😭 we’re going to have to hustle out of here. A place we’ve live in and taken care of for four years. I hate landlords so profoundly.
