It doesn’t really matter *why* Trump’s desire to destabilise & divide Europe precisely mirrors Vladimir Putin’s - whether kompromat, self-interest, naked bigotry or something else l. What matters is that Europe treats both regimes like the enemies of progress & democracy they so clearly are.

The truth is simple, the billionaires are desperate for you to hate the brown/black people.

So you don't hate them.

Productivity increases between 5% and 13% with working from home, and worker wellbeing improves hugely too.

But Farage doesn't care about reality. Or productivity. Or your wellbeing.

He cares about the workplace property investors who bankroll him.

Left: President Trump says that If anti ICE protestors do anything bad to 'our people' they will have to suffer

Right: What did this 7 year old girl on the Alex Pretti memorial bike ride in Portland, Oregon do, to suffer tear gas from ICE, which she says is 'burning'?

Braverman says she's been "politically homeless" for over 2 years, which means she was reelected in 2024 as an MP for a party she didn't want to be a member of.

And she says Tories "failed Britain [on] Brexit and immigration". She was Brexit minister and Home Secretary. Twice.

But "vote for me!"

For anyone who's interested, James O'Brien is discussing Trump's comments about NATO on his programme this morning with traumtaised ex-military and bereaved families phoning in.
Callers in tears at the sense of betrayal and anger.
It makes for difficult listening.

Excellent piece by @jamescopley.bsky.social in the Echo today! Think the part about Mayenda, Neil, Patto, Riggy and Moore leading the celebrations is particularly insightful into the unity of the whole squad. Great times on Wearside! #SAFC

There was a time when I'd have cared deeply about the BBC.

But they adopted a deliberate policy of kowtowing to the right, backing away from every fight, believing compliance would protect the license fee, and the right would leave them alone.

Stand up to bullies, or get knocked down by reality.

Another very pertinent fact that I have not seen mentioned ANYWHERE: In 14 years of Tory rule we had 14 Prisons Ministers - six in a single year, at one point - and a total of 11 Justice Secretaries, including Grayling, Raab, and Truss. In 13 years of Labour it was three: Irvine, Falconer, Straw. 🤔

... And then tomorrow I can phone up to ask for a refund for the 2 trains that failed utterly.

And still 2 more trains and a tube that could go disastrously wrong.

Remind me how this is cheaper and better than a nationalised service?

We can't tax billionaires, because they might take their tax avoidance to another country. But we can drive out brilliant people who do much-needed work, contribute to our society and culture, pay tax, create jobs, and have done nothing wrong. That's fine, apparently.
