I always feel bad about posting about shit no one cares about like Community but at the same time I do like that posting about it does mean I'm living a more fulfilling life then Elon Musk.

To be fair hes introduced half way through season 2. But still.

NGL as someone who does cheek out disturbing media and exploitation seeing a beaten up woman on the Instagram timeline talking about the actual assault she just went though does pack a different punch entirely.
I think it’s also worth noting that a huge part of what changed is algorithmic feeds

I came up with a version of the internet chock full of the most messed up shit imaginable so early on I internalized the idea that that stuff was just kind of out there and shrug whatever it’s fine, no one is forcing me to look at it, and it’s still so weird to me how alien that attitude is now

I got a question for the time line. Whos an artist with good politics whos music doesn't do anything for you? I feel like we get so much of the good artist with bad politics I'm curious with this one. I'm just curious because the Sabrina Carpenter is mine.

NGL Carpenter may be beating the industry plant allegations with her political stuff as of later her music is still mid.

I think for the most part one of the reasons why I don't think games cant be high art is I think they are often designed with commerce in mind. More so then movies IDK if the best our medium can do on a big budget level is emulate netflix by releasing something like Dispatch we arnt a mature medium.

NGL I think for me when it comes to games as art we are kind of what would happen if the entire film industry took their ques from that one dude who thinks the Dark Knight should have won the Oscar.

Ngl I really do think one of the reasons as to why we don't have a magical girl tradition in the west is I really do feel like the witch show ie buffy and charmed serves that function.

NGL I always feel like whenever fandom people are like oh yeah this has no cultural impact they underestimate how much people don't really give a shit. Like the people who watch and read fan fic arnt in the majority of anything really.

Its weird to me that people struggle to put Christmas in the same realm as horror when it could be argued that the most popular Christmas story of all time is a ghost story.

I like when people cite old literature as being simple and clear cut and post in a way where they clearly have never read the material they're posting. Charles Dickon's never wants the audience to ponder on the morals of his stories nope no nada.

You know one of the things I do like about Star Trek is that their is less pressure on the property to fail compared to other nerd media I like but I also think its a property where the utopian vibes are becoming parodies of themselves at this point.

IDK I think at this point some of the security I want in life isn't to be the prefect person so much as its just be secure in my ability to walk into a group and just be my authentic self and not think that folks hate me or I said a weird thing.
NGL on one hand I do relate to some of the characters in the Secret History but on the other I'd rather hang out with the dudes who try to be Ichaban or Peacemaker.

The Oscars should give awards to the movies everyone sees and by everyone sees we mean the one to two superhero and maybe Wicked if we are lucky.
Year-end critics’ lists exist for people to fight over, so I’m happy when people complain about them. But the complaint I will never get is, “I’ve never heard of most of these movies/albums/shows.” Yes, and? Why be mad about learning about stuff you didn’t know before from the news?
