I stopped by Tbilisi State University this evening, where the academics appeared angry (something that happens far too rarely).

Oh, one last note. I had raised this concern about external harassment of faculty in the hope of being proactive. I wanted systems set up expecting that it could become an issue. As someone who writes about disinfo, I've received angry emails, but didn't expect much yet at my uni. I was wrong.

Part of the lesson here is that the private publisher, Wiley, is systematically trying to take over editorial control of journals from academics. They are embedding these demands in new contracts and forcing the academics either to quit the journal or bow down.
