Story idea:

we are x years in the future and there’s an ageing generation of those who still know the old art of “thinking” independently of computers

In a race against the machines (😉), a few remaining humans try to rescue those skills against the rise of LLM, human mortality & dementia
Another taxi driver conversation, another “what you’re not South African” discussion

i really hate what has become of the internet. you used to be able to find information.

now its just AI crap you have to trawl through to whilst fighting AI chatbot pop ups who pretend to be humans trying to chat to me to take away more of my time

can we have the functionality of 2000s back

is this a joke, a really really bad one. cause seeing this logo really made me sick
Ukip have submitted a new logo and slogan to the Electoral Commission, swapping the £ pound sterling symbol for a cross, that looks very much like it is modelled on the Iron Cross used by Prussia & Germany 1871-1918 and Hitler's Nazi regime from 1933-45

....not just older people

regards,
a vascular surgeon
You can do it in the ankles of older people, the wrist, and even the forehead. It’s in your temples, and in fact anesthesiologists will sometimes take that pulse during surgery. They’re sitting at your head, so it’s right there. youtube.com/shorts/sq78I...

you have to choose to support local business if you dont want every high street look like a clone too.

everyone knows i will only go our to local cafes/restaurants/pubs and always stay in non chain hotels when i can decide.

we are shaping the world around us with our (money) decisions
essentially repeating @jamesdaustin.bsky.social's point that people say they want a nice high street and yet aren't using their high street, in order to add: people need to also actively choose to spend more in brick and mortar shops than they would online, even if it feels unfair!

Disappoint interview with RSM president (why am I surprised!)

Musk should have never been made a fellow.

If you truly only care about the scientific achievement, why elect someone whose only contribution is cash

“If the wind changes, of course we’d change with the wind”

Labour government in a nutshell
Would the government support the banning of Twitter in the UK?

Heidi Alexander tells @lewisgoodall.com that if Ofcom made that recommendation, then 'obviously' they would back that decision.

they can't 'challenge'
Findings show that large language models (LLMs) often fail to challenge harmful beliefs, accommodating user assumptions and lacking vigilance. Minor adjustments like "wait a minute" can enhance misinformation correction, highlighting pragmatics' role in AI safety. https://arxiv.org/abs/2601.04435
