The disappearance of America’s leadership class at a time like this means that the rest of us have to be leaders. We can no longer wait to be led by those with the power and authority to lead. You must lead, I must lead, all of us must lead. We are the leaders we’ve been waiting for.

Trump’s running America like he ran his businesses: bleed it dry, leave everyone broke, then walk away.

He isn’t a president; he’s a vampire, and the nation’s his next bankruptcy. 🧛‍♂️

Fear is the oldest tool of authoritarian rule. History shows it can be resisted—through care, strikes, protest, culture, and courage. We’ve done it before. We can do it again. #ResistFear #Democracy #CivilResistance #Anthropology

One way to gain new skills.
Japan Post has ceased all mail delivery to the US for packages valued over $100. To get around this, a Japanese denim company tells me they'll ship components to US customers one-by-one — fabric, buttons, rivets, a sewing needle, and thread. You then assemble the jeans at home like IKEA furniture.

Thinking about this today amid reports that federal datasets are disappearing on everything from disease to labor statistics to inflation.
While I'm definitely worried about the negative impacts of the next administration, I'm more worried about the cover-up of the impact data. Recall that Trump did everything he could to hide COVID data.

Ex-farm worker here.

We need to talk about this whole "But a living wage for farm workers would spike the cost of food!" thing.

Not true AT ALL.

Y'all don't understand how fast experienced farm workers are.

The average tomato picker pulls 650lbs per hour.

At $20/hr, that's $0.03/lb for labor.

The U.S. government is trying to hoodwink vulnerable seniors into voting red in 2026 before the pain hits in 2027.

Over 7M seniors rely on Medicaid. Nearly 2M live in nursing homes where Medicaid pays the bills. Republicans just slashed nearly $1 trillion from it.

Republicans no longer see care as a duty. The 2025 budget bill doesn’t reform—it sorts, exposes, and discards. It encodes necropolitics into policy, not with force, but through spreadsheets and silence. The question isn’t whether we can afford to care. It’s who we’re willing to abandon.
