Grade appeals are another matter. We handle them with a committee in the department and that's that. If some student wants to blow it up, the administration tells them they have to go through the department because that's the procedure. They don't change policy just because of a complaint on TikTok.

By the way, when a student complaint is shown to be valid, it's taken extremely seriously, But the office that deals with it is severely understaffed and it can take weeks or months to act on it. I'm sure it's like that in most universities. This is for bad behavior by profs.

Lemme tell you from experience dealing with student complaints: Most are a waste of time. They are either lying, don't understand, or egged on by parents. But, sure, if you wanna pay suspended faculty and their replacements to make some idiotic point about "wokeness" or whatever, go ahead.
