Senator Milton Young
@senmiltonyoung.bsky.social
Former U.S. Senator from the great state of North Dakota. They call me Mr. Wheat. The tallest building in Minot is named after me, which is a hell of a thing.
This man understood rural America better than just about anyone I’ve ever read. He wasn’t an East Coast smart-ass pretending to be a shitkicker. He was the real deal.
Daniel Woodrell, the author of “Winter’s Bone” who was known for his tales of violence and squalor in his native Ozarks, died on Friday. He was 72.
Daniel Woodrell, ‘Country Noir’ Novelist of ‘Winter’s Bone,’ Dies at 72
His tales of violence and squalor in his native Ozarks had the timeless quality of fables and inspired several movies.

Stoppard’s plays were good but he wasn’t much of a farmer.

Don’t make the mistake of dismissing Noem as a simpleton; she’s simplistic, and the distinction is important.

It was bad enough when ESPN decided it was going to shove soccer down our throats, but now it’s added “professional” wrestling to the stew.

It was 28 degrees in Ann Arbor today at kickoff. You goddamn people wouldn’t last seven seconds out here on these plains.
According to Jess Sims, it's "cold as shit" inside The Big House!

This Gus Johnson fellow comes from the school of thought that believes if you yell loudly enough, it must be important

Dislike Hegseth all you want, I certainly do, but stop with the “when he’s on trial for murder” nonsense. Don’t go down childish rabbit holes that only lead to disappointment.

It shows you how weak and worthless Vance is. A VP with any stones would already be working behind the scenes to take this sex-pest buffoon behind the barn.
Trump claims “any document” signed by Joe Biden is “hereby terminated.”

He calls out executive orders later but obviously “any document” would be much broader and include legislation.

(He can’t legally do that but, as always, we get to watch how far he can push this without repercussions)

She should have gone back at him, challenging him over and over with the truth. The Beltway press has been standing there and taking it from him for ten years, which is a major reason we are where we are.
“You’re a stupid person” — Trump lashes out at a reporter who presses him on the fact that the suspected DC shooter was actually thoroughly vetted before he was let in the US from Afghanistan

Just when you think an NFL game couldn’t be any more excruciating, here comes Post Malone.

You peckerwoods can’t even comprehend the number of people who are buried out on these plains because of illnesses that today don’t even require calling in sick.

My parents and grandparents would think we’re a collective of complete dipshits.
Unbelievable.

Very few things piss me off more than anti-vax morons killing their children.

He didn't rape the turkey, which goes to show that 79 isn't too old to turn over a new leaf.

I see a William F. Buckley biography has made the Times’s notable books list.

Here’s the only Buckley biography you need: he was a trust-fund, country-club asshole who wasn’t even half as smart as he thought he was.

This is the most impeachment-worthy thing he’s done yet.
A person directly familiar with the conversations tells Semafor that Donald Trump has personally pressed Larry Ellison to revive Brett Ratner's "Rush Hour" franchise.

When you think your job is too tough, just remember that on Nov. 23, 1963, Dallas car salesmen had to go to work and try to sell convertibles.

I have a better chance at the GOP nomination in 2028 than Greene does. But she’ll shake the rubes down for money, stay in some nice hotels, eat some fancy food she can’t pronounce.

For a few months, maybe half a year, she’ll fly in rare air, which is more than most shitkickers can say.

Mamdani rolled Trump like a bitch, as everyone knew he would. Trump’s fastball, such as it was, is gone. The parallels between Trump at a year in and Biden at a year in are striking.

But at least Biden’s people had the good sense to hide him away.

This pig-eyed sack of shit is so riddled with dementia that he doesn’t know what planet he’s on.

Vance is less likable than Cruz, and Cruz’s own wife and children hate his guts. Meanwhile, Rubio has the intellectual capacity of a cocker spaniel with CTE.

Good luck in 2028, GOP.
