Minneapolis is headed towards something resembling a general strike, if you were wondering how the campaign to cow working people into quiescence is going
Last night, The Minneapolis Federation of Educators Local 59 signed on to the call for a Jan 23 shutdown. That brings total labor support to: the Amalgamated Transit Union (ATU) Local 1005, SEIU Local 26, UNITE HERE Local 17, CWA Local 7250, St. Paul Federation of Educators Local 28, and the MFE 59
Unions and community orgs are calling for a Minnesota-wide shutdown in 10 days to protest the ferocious assault by federal immigration agents. They're saying on Jan 23, no work, no school, no shopping. SEIU Local 26, UNITE HERE Local 17, & others are supporting, w/ more to join. By me, Amie Stager

I've had 2 screens degrade so far while trying to print these and on top that the prints I do get look like absolute shit because idk how to get clean pulls on canvas. Doubt these are gonna be ready for ANE
design needs finishing touches but I have a screen coated in emulsion and a box of blank totes and am on a mission to have these ready for ANE

all respect to protest organizers but I was just at a march and in an hour of listening to speakers not a single one mentioned strikes. we can chant all we want but if we wanna do anything concrete we gotta start having some serious conversations about National Don't Go To Work Week becoming real.

important correction: that shit doesn't work in isolation. protests that draw millions of supporters don't scare the people in power, not in any meaningful way at least. it's the idea that those millions might not show up for work the next day that does.
We've had 60 years experience with anti war protests ranging from campus sit ins to the weather underground. I think a lot of people still don't want to admit that shit doesn't work. For fucks sake can we start talking general strikes at the very least.
