Senate Democrats will offer 2 bills today from Chris Van Hollen & Gary Peters—each is co-sponsoring the other’s bill.

Van Hollen’s bill would pay all federal employees during the shutdown and bar more layoffs. Peters’ proposal would pay all federal employees up through the day the bill is enacted.

I for one think the Epstein Ballroom will be magnificent. I love the decor theme of “what if Uday Hussein ran a Ramada Inn.” And giving it a theme song everyone will associate with it is a stroke of brilliance! “Thank Heaven for Little Girls” is very catchy.

ICE arrested a Chicago father whose 16-year-old daughter has Stage 4 cancer. It’s spread to her bones, and she’s undergoing aggressive treatment to try to save her life. They don’t know if she’s going to make it—and all she wants is her dad back. This is cruel, and it’s not making anyone safer.
