having hope is essential in those dark times
Ukraine was never yours to sell and never will be.
Q: Have you heard this audio that Bloomberg has of Witkoff coaching the Russians on how to appeal to you?

TRUMP: That's a standard thing. He's gotta sell this to Ukraine, he's gonna sell Ukraine to Russia. That's what a dealmaker does. I haven't heard it but I heard it was standard negotiation.

Usually, residency isn't required to obtain a marriage license in an EU country.

So what today's EU's supreme court ruling does is put Eastern EU (and 🇮🇹) in the same gay marriage category as 🇮🇱.

I've got an ultimate argument against Gen AI:
It's simply not cool.

Fuck those who throw salt on the sidewalks when there's just a little bit of snow. Stupid policy. Hurts people using wheelchairs, animals, ground, shoes etc.

while learning we also explore "unexpected" things - about the topic or oneself. it's not linear and creates very rich inner landscape of knowledge, sometimes from different fields
It's almost like making the effort to learn a thing teaches you more about it than just asking the closest idiot to tell you what they think about the subject and copying that down
Relying on ChatGPT to teach you about a topic leaves you with shallower knowledge than Googling and reading about it, according to new research that compared what more than 10,000 people knew after using one method or the other.

This is extremely interesting to read and I will remember the rule of "placeness".
real human creators have fuzz - it's great to support them
… ALSO also, some simple, practical tips for grounding your characters within their setting, thus improving the "sense of place."
Little things like, "have them interact with the furniture," and "kick up dust when you walk," and "always lean on the door frame."

have seen this making a rounds and I just want to say that this is a pure antithesis to AI.
This is pure humanity - trying to draw what you like and failing a little bit. and in this imperfection lies what I love in art. Doing something "wrong", learning, is part of fun. genuinely thankful for it.

Great article.
also I think it's crucial to remember what happened after the dot-com bubble, which companies survived. Because if AI bubble is to burst, who will survive and get bailed out by the govmnt? Who will *really* lose money and who will treat it as opportunity to grow even bigger?
NEW: Welcome to the Great AI Bubble. Yes, it’s here. And yes, it’s going to burst.

It’s also got way more in common with the Epstein scandal than you really want to know.

It touches every aspect of life. Even protesting- I've seen some AI gen signs. it's fun to meet with people and make signs together, decide what to write, buy paint, socialise. sign won't be perfect, but there will be a connection. This is what AI in this for is also trying to take: human connection

the whole thread is so important and on point
this goes right along with my theory that the AI obsession in *users* is often bc…

1. they were never educated (esp "ipad generation") & don't know how computers work

2. our tools and services are all SO AWFUL NOW, degraded at best, actively user-hostile at worst

When a big media company uses genai slop instead of human made art, it is not just taking a job away from one artist to make that thing but *multiple* artists involved in all the things.

The entire artist-hiring pipeline gets destroyed in favor of chugging from the hot dogshit pipeline.
