Canada made weird tv shows because it was all being done with government funded art grant money so they fell in this wacky middle ground between “shoestring budget” and “no expectation to generate shareholder value” which is really the best way to make art

I once asked a bookseller at a large indie store how many people would have to buy a book for it to get the attention of the store buyer and cause an additional order and they said: Three.
I see some book piracy discourse, and, to make a positive argument in favor of buying books, your marginal ability to influence what books get published and support the careers of writers you like is massive compared to most other forms of media.

Please don't pirate books.
If you can't pay for a book, there is already a solution for you: use a library.
Whatever you think authors, illustrators, and other book career people make, it's less than that. By a lot. Stealing from us isn't heroic, it's crushing.

Can we talk about using photo reference and artistic license? Let’s use this pic I just took of a man walking and his shadow on the wall behind him. If I was going to illustrate this, I’d probably add in the other arm in the shadow - - even though the photo reference doesn’t show it. Why?

I do not drink because I have almost no tolerance for it anymore (one margarita is too much).
If you are hosting a party, I recommend also stocking:
-fancy ginger beer
-coconut water
-premium juices like lychee and guava
-apple cider with cinnamon
-Italian sodas
-sparkling water

Was just reminded of the amazing synchronicity of being a 90’s teen,introduced to “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” in grade 9 at the same time as Gargoyles was rolling out episodes of “The Gathering” and had recurring characters like Puck and MacBeth. It made learning Shakespeare in school extra fun.

David has framed 4 of my Muppet watercolours! There’s a portrait of Kermit&Robin from “The Muppet Christmas Carol“and Statler&Waldorf rattling chains from the same. Piggy dressed in the red “White Christmas” dress and Fozzie&Snowman from “A Muppet Family Christmas”. (I love seeing where they live!)

It’s widely known (and, I think, pretty uncontroversial) that learning requires effort — specifically, if you don’t have to work at getting the knowledge, it won’t stick.
Even if an LLM could be trusted to give you correct information 100% of the time, it would be an inferior method of learning it.
