Sometimes it feels like the two dueling forces in American politics are anti-incumbency/dissatisfaction/time-for-a-change on on side and status quo bias/thermostasis/retrospective-rise in approval on the other, and the ACA has managed to make its way through solidly into the latter camp.
A Fox News poll this week found Obamacare is more popular than Trump, either party and congressional leaders. Only 3 points below Fox's all-time high for the law reached in 2023 static.foxnews.com/foxnews.com/...

hey, we could even talk to a lot of people and try to make sure that the people we talk to are reflective in many ways of society as a whole, and not just the loudest voices in the room

As noted in February — if Cassidy was worried about the U.S. health secretary undermining trust on vaccine safety, there was a very simple tool he had to affect that.

Instead, he broke a logjam and voted for RFK Jr.
Watching Bill Cassidy reveal the commitments that RFK Jr gave him — for instance, a pledge to provide Senate a 30-day heads-up on any planned changes to vaccine safety monitoring programs.

Strikes me that these commitments wouldn’t be needed if the health secretary wasn’t RFK Jr
