Ah, of course! I should have realised that the logistics of trouser-changing are well beyond his grasp!

πŸ‘ Same here, though I have to admit one wasn't what I thought it was πŸ˜†

He's sort of like Trump, but he doesn't have to change his trousers as frequently πŸ˜‰

Slow-cooked beef brisket with vegetables. Not as healthy as yours, but definitely appropriate for this cold, miserable weather!

Well if things carry on as they are, then there won’t be very much inbound international traffic to worry about 😏

It was OK once I got going, but quite a toughie.

I think this is the first time I’ve come across him. He really ought to know better than to say this stuff out loud!

The Labour Party is dying. Mandelson, McSweeney and their followers are the Labour Party now. If they go, what’s left? A brand name, and a lot of people who wittered about β€œthe Labour family” and β€œLabour values” while looking the other way. Decent progressive politics is elsewhere now.
If Morgan McSweeney goes it won't be to protect Keir Starmer (Starmer is a dead man walking anyway). It will be to protect the political faction that wrecked, smeared, lied & purged its way to the top of the party, & which McSweeney was/is an integral part of.

Good point! It's not as if a "team" is a single entity with a mouth than can eat, after all (cue Terry Gilliam cartoon!) I tend to avoid this kind of debate by re-wording. In this case I'd write, "The members of the team were having lunch", or something similar.

Thanks Craig. That answer seems very reasonable. πŸ‘

Batteries are the fossil fuel killer.

Much of the main stream analysis about the energy transition is still pretending this didn't happen in the past two years.

But it did.

I had reason to look at my local area on Google Earth yesterday and noticed for the first time a distinct line, more or less straight, running diagonally across the screen, like a scar. Ah yes, HS2! 🀬 On the plus side, our daughter’s partner is an archaeologist, so he’s had some work out of it.

D seems grammatically correct, strictly speaking, but just sounds wrong!

How capitalism works, 1:01.
They want us working earlier and til we die to pay for their tax cuts for the rich. Supervillains.

Indeed. Starmer must have been aware of Mandelson’s history at the time he made the appointment, even if the full extent of his relationship with Epstein was not yet established.
Well why the FUCK did you appoint him ambassador?
Prime Minister Keir Starmer believes Peter Mandelson should be stripped of his peerage due to his links to the late convicted paedophile Jeffrey Epstein

It's definitely time for the trebuchet to make a comeback. And the oubliette. In fact, we could have some fun trying to twang such people into an oubliette using a trebuchet. We could sell tickets, I'm sure. πŸ‘
Run your privately held company as stupidly as you want, my dude. You go bankrupt it's your money.

All of this is "Why can't I be filthy rich and also untethered from obligations to anything other than my genius" load these people into a trebuchet
