I think about how much this city spends on policing and how ineffectual it is. When Randall Hopley walked away from his halfway house, the VPD said they we're doing everything to find him but in the end he just handed himself in after hanging around in plain site in the DTES for ten days.

It's particularly frustrating that our school gets specific funding to help my kid in math but is not organized enough to have the right teachers. I understand its hard to recruit teachers as they're a small high school and the inner city is expensive to live in, but they have to sort something out

Not really. They have Math Club, but that is just a club for kids who enjoy math and tend to do very well in it. My kid has a designated learning disability in math and the school gets funding for her to get support but just cannot keep teachers.

Sigh. The resource teacher at my daughter's school that had been helping her with math left. The other resource teachers say they aren't good enough at math to support pre-calc 11. So this week they told my daughter just to use chatgpt to get the answer. Like, WTF?!
