We’ve got a jam packed schedule for the next few days in the thick of winter here in the Windy City. We’ve added a home buyout for Monday so 5 days of riding FOR our community, WITH our community. ✊🏽🚲❤️ #BikeChi

I participated in my first Point in Time count in Chicago last night (did one in Indy ages ago) and I’m happy to report we found nobody. I’m hoping anyone experiencing homelessness is somewhere warm these next few days. It’s dangerous out there.
Good morning.

(That’s -22 C and windchill of -31 C)

Do you think Chicago will ever have a mayor that thinks this is unacceptable, preventable, and that actually does something about these tragedies? #ThereAreNoAccidents #ZeroVision

My last Christmas tree of the season was The Final Boss. Was I scared? Of course I was. Did I think of quitting? Not even once. 🌲

First buyout of the year wut wut 🎉
Very cool! At Monday's Archer rally, CyclingXSolidarity, joined by folks from SW Collective, Gage Park Cyclists & CCM, did a "vendor buy-out" of snacks from Oscar, who was there with his cart, to enjoy and share with people experiencing food insecurity.

Headed off the ground for now. Minneapolis graffiti game goes hard.

‼️Achievement Unlocked‼️

Hauling a Christmas tree with a non-cargo ebike in the rain 🦾 🌲

My card was rejected at the gates bc I forgot to reload (don’t lecture me about auto), so I stepped aside to load more on the app and a CTA worker saw me and told me to go ahead and scanned me in. Heroes. 🫡
I just witnessed a CTA bus driver actually waiting a few minutes at a stop to reduce bunching with the bus ahead of him for the first time in my entire 17 years in this city (that I recall). I thanked him and wrote him a compliment to head office, as a bus bunching obsessive this made my day!

A new personal record, 5 trees! I think that’s my max. The battery assist made it a breeze! 🦾🚲🌲 #TreeChi

Dentist says I need a night guard and quoted me $800. Just made an appointment in Mexico in the “Dental Tourism Capital of the World”, my quote is $85. 🇲🇽

My 2nd season hauling Christmas trees to recycle for my neighbors. It’s a “pay what you want” model where proceeds go to support street vendors. Tomorrow my goal is to haul 5! 🦾🚲🌲

Private chauffeur to our train for our last date night of the holiday break. 💅

I also heard he’s been taking transit/taxi to everything. Just like Brandon’s inauguration where his convoy of SUVs parked in the bike lanes.

Welp. We almost made it to the end of the year without any major incidents.

Weather report: lakefront trail is icy.
Bike report: rode home.
Care package report: delivered.
Human report: home and thawing.

Still better than driving. 😎

Last night was the last home buyout of 2025. It was a cold one but 4 brave souls biked across Chicago to pickup 250 tamales and distribute them to folks on the street. That’s over $5k and 1,780 tamales in the last 2 weeks alone. Stay tuned for our 2025 wrapped!!
December 30, 2025 at 6:35 PM
Boxing Day? More like Tamale Day! 730 tamales bought from local street vendors to fill community fridges and feed homies on the street. Best part: one of the vendors gave us some free samples to enjoy. That’s community. This is mutual aid. This is #BikeChi ✊🏽

Spent Christmas Eve evening with some of my #BikeChi family, packing up 150 cheesecakes and riding around the city, passing them out to neighbors on the street and community fridges for some last minute Christmas cheer 🎅🏽🫶🏽🚲🍰

Hey #BikeChi, what was your shortest and longest Divvy ride and was it the same ride???

Experienced once again the incredible urbanism that is Oz 😍

1 - bikes
1 - trains
1 - brooms
1 - bubbles
0 - cars

Tuesday continued with purchases of 680 tamales, we filled every community fridge we could find and lots of hungry Chicagoans on our rides home. My favorite part is that every buyout is a new combination of cyclists from the beautiful #BikeChi community. ✊🏽🫶🏽🚲

Tonight is 150 cheesecakes 🍰
