Yes!! We’ve done that for some vendors. We’ve found a wonderful partner in the Street Vendors Association of Chicago and have been attacking the problem from all angles.

I can’t believe I’m saying this but the system worked…this time. I testified and the drivers defense was “you coulda just asked me to move.” Until we get real infrastructure and/or automated enforcement, I shall keep doing the lord’s work!

This weekend was record breaking for our mutual aid efforts! On Friday, the team got up bright and early to send home vendors. 6 vendors supported, over $500 worth of food. Saturday, we bought 100 tamales from 2 vendors! All distributed right back into the community. We keep us safe! #BikeChi

Lakefront bike ride. Friends. Bonfire. S’mores. Third places. Saturday was our latest Bikes & Bonfires ride up the lakefront path to the bonfire spot where the theme was networking to get ppl jobs. Our last weekend in the 80s this year? Only time will tell. Ride bikes. Spread joy. 🤙🏽

We need a bigger national spotlight on this building raid, fam. Agents dropped from helicopters onto the roof. Citizens and non-citizens alike were dragged from their homes in the night. People who weren't kidnapped during the raid had their belongings seized after the fact. This is madness.

Last night: unemployment support group met. Sunday: Burrito Brigade distributed 250 burritos. Friday: mutual team will support street vendors. Saturday: Bikes & Bonfire will help ppl find jobs. The CxS team is community first and bikes are our chariots. We are all we’ve got. We are all we need.
