Not being able to go to the mall to buy movie novelizations at Waldenbooks, stare at weird dragon shit in Wicks n’Sticks, and eat a mall Chinese because you’re 13 and don’t have a car hits different than not being able to go to the mall now even though I have a car because there’s nothing in it.

One of those docs that starts out awesome & poignant, then clearly the filmmaker was afraid this wasn't enough and then inserts themselves into the story in a very awkward way. How it ends up sort of justifies the odd turn, but it bugs me when doc directors mold/change the narrative to their whim.
