A selfie of me. I have bleached blonde hair with brown/black roots coming in, medium length, going down to my brown/black chinstrap beard. I'm smiling, wearing red round glasses, giving a love symbol with my thumb, index and little finger. I'm wearing a black leather jacket, open, with a white sweater cardigan, zipped open a bit, with a black Foo Fighters t-shirt underneath. A golden dogtag is hanging from my neck, on it is Law's jolly roger from the One Piece series (a skull smiley face with the spokes of a ship's wheel around it). The background is daytime skyscrapers in Boston, with just a few clouds but otherwise clear blue skies.

There's fucking yaoi art on a train by my house I'm fucking losing my mind, this rules so much
Anime styled graffiti art on a train car depicting a male demon looking seductively at another man while saying "That's a good boy", with the phrase "kiss yr homies goodnight" in the bottom left corner.
Artist seems to be "Akira BPD"

i tried to conceptualize a video years ago that was about how "OOT master quest is really bad actually" but in the process of making it i realized:

1: master quest is funny and i love how it communicates with the player

2: its actually that ocarina of time wasn't as good as i thought to begin with

that time monty python's John Cleese took up a role for "a character in a world war II video game", only to fly out to the studio and be hit with: "so you're gonna play Adolf Hitler"

he refused the role (as per his contract), and thus a new character was thrown together for him in under 24 hours 🙃

would really appreciate if you found the time to watch my history of the companies OVERKILL & STARBREEZE

you'll learn a lot about the past 25 years of the game development scene, and see how developers who are 'like family' get torn apart. no level of success pardons contempt.

cannot stop thinking about how several Trevor Project tech employees used the non-profit's money to develop AI software and then spun it off into a for-profit startup like jesus fucking christ
"ReflexAI, Meet our leadership team" Pictured are two plain looking white guys. "Sam Dorison is the Cofounder and Chief Executive Officer at ReflexAI. An expert in artificial intelligence strategy and product deployment, Dorison has been involved with AI-powered products in industries ranging from mental health to cybersecurity to smart cities.

Before launching ReflexAI, he served as Chief Strategy & Innovation Officer at The Trevor Project, the world’s largest suicide prevention and crisis intervention organization for LGBTQ young people. There, he published five peer-reviewed articles on mental health and oversaw teams including crisis services, training, research, technology, and finance. Dorison previously worked at McKinsey & Company and Harvard Kennedy School. He graduated summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa from Princeton University’s School of Public and International Affairs. He also holds an LL.M. from Cambridge University and a master’s degree from University College London, both as a Marshall Scholar. Beyond ReflexAI, Dorison is heavily involved in causes that support families impacted by cancer. Dorison lives in New York City with his husband." Second. "John Callery is the Cofounder and Chief Product & Technology Officer at ReflexAI. Callery is a recognized product and technology leader who has overseen the creation of numerous award-winning technologies within the AI, mental health, and contact center spaces.

Before launching ReflexAI, he was the Chief Technology Officer at The Trevor Project, the world’s largest suicide prevention and crisis intervention organization for LGBTQ young people. There, he scaled the technology vertical from himself to 72 staff across product, artificial intelligence, engineering, and information technology. His teams have won Fast Company’s Innovation by Design award and also were featured as TIME’s 100 Best Inventions of 2021, and have been showcased in the MIT Technology Review, VentureBeat..." Et cetera, et cetera.

me having played Abiotic Factor before F.E.A.R: "wow this half-life inspired game is going some very different places for the genre, this is so creative!"

me having now played F.E.A.R: "OHH. we are all our inspirations plus what new we bring. half-FEAR survival with new ideas, this is so creative!"
Screenshot of the first person shooter F.E.A.R.. The world is slowed to slow motion, a robot mech taller than the average person fires mini rockets at the player, who is shooting back with a bolt gun. The environment is a science lab at night, with tech-inspired HUD elements abound.

“It often feels like it's a dystopian world that we live in, and the only thing that is real is Gaza and what's happening there.”

Politics editor @leximcmenamin.com speaks with 23-year-old journalist Plestia Alaqad about her book, leaving Gaza and the impact all of it has on young people.
Journalist Plestia Alaqad Is Publishing Her Diaries From Gaza: "A Dystopian World"
"Every time I read it, I just feel disbelief — is this real? Did I really live that? Are there still thousands of people in Gaza living that?”

tbh the way this website is being handled i don't really want to be here at all. just exhausting to be exposed to a never-ending fire hose of drama and moderation. dramoderation.

the time gap is what matters.

someday, there may be another hatemonger talking head doing the same grift beat as them. could even be just as popular. BUT recent memory of the most heinous and unforgivable bs lingers around long enough to furlough grifters for, if we're lucky, a generation or two

many modern "AI" systems for gaming are being posited as, essentially, make the user's hardware crudely imitate work done by designers over decades of games to get to the same end point of "enemy see you, enemy attack"

same goes for AI writing. its an automated wheel reinventor youtu.be/ZfEWOl0WHX8

if you ever need a trailer edited (vegas keep in mind i refuse adobe on principle), some character writing (tho i think you've got that handled), or just insight on shooter design from years of talking critically about it, DMs are always open
