The conservatives used to shut down the government over a few hundred million dollars. Seriously.

Yet Trump blows billions and sues the govt for billions and gets a “free” jet from Qatar that the govt will spend a billion on then let him take it with him… and not a peep.

Like all of his Trumpy peers, Tom Homan is a bold-faced liar.
"I'm coming to Boston and I'm bringing hell with me."
--Homan in February

"Do I expect violence to escalate? Absolutely."
-- Tom Homan in March

"I actually thought about getting up and throwing that man a beating right there in the middle of the room"
-- Homan in July, referring to a D congressman
Homan: "I begged for the last two months on TV for the rhetoric to stop. I said in March -- if the rhetoric doesn't stop, there is gonna be bloodshed. And there has been. I wish I wasn't right. I don't want to see anybody die."

Levitsky and Ziblatt remind us that political systems are designed to solve problems, not exacerbate them. Yet in some democracies today, winner-take-all systems are empowering authoritarian minorities and undermining democratic legitimacy.

The people who gave us the Epstein coverup and the Jan 6 makeover are now actively engaged in the ICE coverup. Why am I not surprised?

Trump has given ICE a hunting license to kill Americans. Senator Chuck Schumer needs to shut down the DHS appropriations. This is not a policy fight.

Republican politicians who think that Minneapolis is a political problem are missing the point. It is a moral problem. But they are in so deep that they cannot see just how morally bankrupt they have become. They do not understand that we are as revulsed by their complicity as by Trump's cruelty.

Thanks for the info. The hubris of Trump never fails to astonish. Coloradan here and I appreciate your use of one of my favorite phrases, but I learned it as all HAT and no cattle. You might like that better…I do. 😊

If something comes of this, how sad that elected officials have turned a deaf ear to those they are elected to represent and who have been clamoring for this for almost the full year of Trump’s 2nd term. But if public humiliation from Europe is what it takes, so be it. Let’s go!
