not the first person to say this, but video games' closest artistic sibling is theatre, not film. immersive theatre, for sure, but there's overlap in less-experimental, proscenium-style plays as well

Just gonna say since we're already talking about unionizing game writers: hey, maybe let us localizers in on those talks, too, because it's pretty fucking rough out there, even in AAA. I'd probably have three times as many credits if we were unionized and I'm one of the lucky ones with any at all.
Nioh 3, developed by Koei Tecmo and localized in 11 languages, does NOT feature any #TranslatorsInTheCredits. A few members of Localization staff are included in the LQA credits, but none of the actual translators are credited. Source: GamersPrey

Story = what happened

Plot = how it’s structured

Narrative = how it’s delivered

shakespeare was on fire writing the history plays and im not afraid to say it. in henry IV part 2 the king laments that his son will take the throne and "commit the oldest sins the newest kinds of ways" which goes absolutely crazy

the psychic mating cry of the MALE Mid-Atlantic Leviathan can be heard up and down the eastern seaboard, on the winter wind and in the creeping silence between thoughts.
I have had "a giant MALE mystical sea creature" stuck in my dome all day like I can't stop thinking it

have said it before but I’ll say it again: believing in evil in our secular age is a radical proposition. that’s partially why it feels unbelievable to see what you’re seeing. ICE and its enablers are evil, and if you are on the side of the good you have a responsibility to stop them

my longstanding, widely known crush on Charles Dance includes this movie.
Space Truckers

This is a real movie that exists that I'm absolutely not making up where Charles Dance plays the cyborg villain who he has a glowing pull-cord penis. There's also square pigs. And Vernon Wells is there. Am I seriously recommending this? Yes. It's a real movie that exists.

i left the church and have nothing to do with it anymore but something happens when i see priests and pastors and rabbis and imams and sikhs at protests going so hard in mega harsh conditions i get choked up. this is how all of that is supposed to be. that's what all of that is supposed to be for.
