We tell ourselves this so that we feel better about it but we shouldn't feel better about it. It may be necessary but it will stain us. And it should. We will carry the responsibility of those deaths. All of us. That's the price.

Sorry, it’s the only way.

See guys what you don't understand is the key to defeating fascism is _hurting people_.
skeezix.bsky.social
Lucien accepts that he is a bad man. If you're gonna advocate for dems to let children die because you believe it will get us more votes at least have the decency not to pretend it's righteous. It may be necessary but you're not some brave revolutionary for saying so.

In order to defeat fascism? Let me think. Yes.
skeezix.bsky.social
Umm so ideally we'd allow people to be hurt in order to get more votes? That.. that doesn't seem right.
skeezix.bsky.social
Right so you're gonna use the one ring but don't worry, you're gonna use it for the greater good.

Thanks. I had no idea.

your country is in a precipitous constitutional crisis

See this, this I can respect. At least you're being honest about it and not pretending that a willingness to be hurt people makes you a rightious warrior for freedom.
anomalocaris-real.bsky.social
Honestly I don't even care about getting more votes at this point I just want these people to get hurt

Okay. Very edgy. So revolutionary.

Cool. Love this for us.

WATCH: Trump’s lawless Ice goons shoot an unarmed priest in the head with a pepper ball. Completely out of control.

Masked Men: Ongoing project of isolating & editing stills from bystander videos of ICE. These agents just fired pepperball at a praying clergyman. Stylizing emphasizes the stylization that fascism seeks, to make it cartoonish or cinematic. An eerie juxtaposition that stresses unnaturalness.

"The American people, regardless of where they reside, should not live under the threat of occupation by the United States military, particularly not simply because their city or state leadership has fallen out of a president’s favor."

Little League coaches, neighbors, pedestrians using cell phones to record ICE arrests put themselves at risk every day to fight fascism. Meanwhile, powerful billionaires grovel and debase themselves so the mad king might exempt them as he ruins the rest of the country.

Last night’s dinner with Trump and Big Tech wasn’t a policy meeting. It was basically 'The Bachelor,' except instead of roses, the prize was the president’s approval.
All the President’s Tech CEOs
At a White House dinner Thursday night, America’s tech executives put on an uncanny display of fealty to Donald Trump.

A reminder at awful times like this
In the immediate aftermath, news outlets will get it wrong.
2. Don't trust anonymous sources.
3. Don't trust stories that cite another news outlet as the source of the information.
4. There's almost never a second shooter.
5. Pay attention to the language the media uses.
• "We are getting reports".. could mean anything.
• "We are seeking confirmation"... means they don't have it.
• "[News outlet] has learned".. means it has a scoop or is going out on limb.
6. Look for news outlets close to the incident.
1. Compare multiple sources.
8. Big news brings out the takers. And photoshoppers.
9. Beware reflexive retweeting. Some of this is on you.

I keep coming back to the fact that views are monetized incentivizing posting the most horrendous crap so it gets people to qt, outraged or otherwise.

The replies to this tweet were recommended to me when I opened the app. The people making these replies are making hundreds or thousands of dollars off them - they're monetized and look how much engagement they're getting. It's become a fullbore funding mechanism for white supremacy.

Twitter has become a terminal cancer for our country, a neverending crisis pouring the worst kind of bigotry imaginable into the public mind, and no one will even talk about it. Most of our elites in journalism and politics still rely on it!

Last week, Boston received a letter from AG Bondi threatening to prosecute officials and withhold funds unless we cooperate with carrying out mass deportations.

The US Attorney General asked for a response by today, so here it is: stop attacking our cities to hide your administration’s failures.
