Trump is a danger to the Republic. Rural voters have a patriotic duty to call their GOP Congressmen and Senators, especially those retiring, and demand they immediately begin caucusing with Democrats to provide a check on this out of control executive.

First, some good news: There is a path out of this endless labyrinth of destabilizing crises, both foreign and domestic, being provoked by an executive

State bans on DEI also ban academic content/discussion/words. FIRE has long promoted the lynchpin of these bans—eliminating DEI according to vague definitions.

The allegedly principled distinction here is a shell game. FIRE’s allegedly staunch defense of “free speech” endangers free speech. 2/2

I will continue to beat this drum: this is not about what happens on Election Day, but afterwards.

The key tell is her articulation of the core MAGA belief that the legitimacy of elections is entirely determined by the results: if they win, it’s legitimate; if they lose, it’s not.
Kristi Noem: "When it gets to Election Day, we've been proactive to make sure we have the right people voting, electing the right leaders to lead this country."

Nothing is a more damming indictment of the moral rot of the MAGA movement than this sentence

I think this is basically true. Ignorance is bliss, as they say
Times columnist @polgreen.bsky.social poses a familiar question, and arrives at a... let's say an unusual answer.

Why, she asks, has trust in the news media cratered? Because aggressive, probing journalism isn't really that popular. People resent it. www.nytimes.com/2026/02/14/o... [Gift link]

Leaving aside just how odious and dangerous Orban is, imagine the outrage Trump would feel if the head of state of another nation endorsed Clinton, Biden, or Harris.

And you know what? Trump would be right. This is a diplomatic faux pas that simply cannot be allowed to become the norm
Trump endorses Orban

Whether he got the Nazi tattoo "innocently" or not is immaterial to whether it disqualifies him from a position of public trust. Either he is a Nazi, or he is so dumb that he accidentally branded himself a Nazi. Either way, Graham Platner has demonstrated he is not qualified to hold public office
incredible how white men are given the benefit of the doubt when anything coming from marginalized groups are treated with utmost suspicion and distorted beyond recognition

I'm not opposed to a policy that only US flags can be flown on federal government property, but it needs to include exceptions for context. A POW/MIA flag at a national cemetery makes sense. A Pride flag at Stonewall makes sense. The Trump admin is just being hateful www.nytimes.com/2026/02/12/n...

A reminder that Donald Trump hosted this guy for dinner at Mar-a-Lago. He isn't some fringe figure. He is the core of the MAGA base
Fuentes then fantasizes about “breeding gulags”: “So just like Hitler imprisoned Gypsies, Jews, communists, you know, all of his political rivals, we have to do the same thing with women… They go to the breeding gulags. The good ones will be liberated. The bad ones will toil in the mines forever.”

oh so just dumb luck these idiots didn’t shoot down a passenger aircraft
According to multiple NYT sources, it wasn’t even military personnel at Fort Bliss that fired an anti-drone laser at alleged cartel drones. It was CBP who used the weapon on loan from DoD against a child’s party balloon they mistook for a drone. The Pentagon gave CBP an anti-aircraft weapon.

He's 100% correct! Billionaires have been waging war on us and winning for 50 years.

Trickle down economics IS theft!

Spot on! Billionaires are NOT our friends.
A young man at our town hall asked if I was pushing class warfare.

I told him: “We already have class warfare in this country — billionaires are waging war on the rest of us.”

I've been thinking a lot about Bondi's qualifications, not only because she demonstrably has none but because I made a similar argument as the Post about her nomination. On paper, she was a conventional pick so my alarm bells didn't go off the way they did with Hegseth and RFK Jr

That was a mistake
simply one of the greatest calls of all time

This is why I feel she was never given a Fox News contract as an on-air pundit despite being a frequent guest and an unapologetic Trump booster -- she's just not very good on TV.
one thing that comes across in these clips is that bondi is totally out of her depth. just an absolute lightweight. barely sentient.
holy shit -- Bondi's new tactic is refusing to answer Democratic questions, then using time during the next Republican questioner to smear the previous Democratic member and accuse them of being complicit in violence crimes

A Reuters photographer captured this image of a page from Pam Bondi's "burn book," which she used to counter any questions from Democratic lawmakers during an unhinged hearing today.

It looks like the DOJ monitored members of Congress’s searches of the unredacted Epstein files.

Just wow.

Breaking on MSNOW right now: the DOJ is tracking the search histories of Congresspeople in the unredacted Epstein files, and Pam Bondi is using those search histories in her Burn Book today.

This is surveillance of Democratic lawmakers as the review the Epstein files, and it is chilling.

wow -- Bondi throws a fit in response to Nadler's question about how many of Epstein's co-conspirators, if any, she's investigating, aggressively pointing at him and yelling. The hearing then devolves into chaos and Raskin and Bondi start yelling at each other.

LOL I don't have a 401k or any retirement savings. I don't even have a job.

Besides, what does any of this have to do with Bondi? Ma'am you're the Attorney General, not my financial planner. Stay in your lane and answer the damn questions
Bondi crashes out over Epstein: "The Dow is over 50,000 dollars! I don't know why you're laughing. You're a great stock trader as I hear, Raskin. The Dow is over 50,000 right now. The S&P at almost 7,000, and the Nasdaq smashing records. That's what we should be talking about."

I want Annie Potts to get as much critical love as Jean Smart. I'm watching Young Sheldon (again lol) and she's just fantastic. And as Mary Jo in Designing Women? She slays

She and Jean Smart should do another sitcom together. Their comedic chemistry in Designing Women is underrated
