I appreciate your ear none the less. Usually my interactions with people I respect and follow online fall on deaf ears.

And at risk of sounding like a terminally online person, no one has ever accepted any of my cold emails. I've been laughed at and told that I will fail over and over again for many years both publicly on social media, and privately in meetings for funding. Steam keeps me alive single handedly.

So I just keep making my games despite it all and I hope that someone somewhere finds what I make and likes it.

It seems that nothing I ever do with my human voice breaks through the noise. When I pay for views, or have my friends with bigger audiences point at my work, I can get an audience. Steam is the only algo that serves my work to people. Threads & Bluesky were good once but usually harm more than help

This is a side tangent and I agree with you, but it wasn't until I put my faith in the Steam algorithm 100% that I started being profitable. Solo Indie Dev on Itch & Patreon was way, way harder and paid way, way less. It feels like I have already lost the attention war on all other socials.
You can actually see that all the videos I wanted to make the most are my worst performing videos. You can see the moment my heart breaks.

I'm back after finishing the video and your stat about 20,000 games this year made me feel like I was dying. How can I possibly get my games seen in that sea of noise?

Ah this is great news for someone that is releasing two games in the next few weeks

What I’ve learned about American politics the last decade is there is an annoyingly sizable population that does not actually believe in anything and simply imprints on the latest thing they heard on the radio like a duckling

you do not actually want to delete and restart your animal crossing island that you poured hundreds of hours into six years ago. be real with yourself. you're going to play this update for a week, be frustrated that you don't have access to everything, and move on quickly.

I was speaking from the heart 😅 Combination of things I read players complain about on other games, and things they complain about on mine

It's honestly incredible that we still teach people to default bugs = true

Gun oil RUINS clothes. Super annoying

Something else to consider is that firearms expose the wielder to lead particles. Dudes who shoot guns a lot... inhale a lot of lead dust... I don't think I need to remind you what inhaling lead dust does to a brain.

We, gamers, come to you, dev, with a list of simple demands:
- Fix all the bugs, even the ones you don't know about
- Remove the stuff I don't like
- Buff the things I use the most
Do all of this for free or I WILL leave a negative review saying "Dead Game. Dev abandoned" with 300 hours in game

There are also birds that fly off and dissolve shortly. This combo results in birds that morph into strange objects and shapes before they just disappear. You can never prove they were there. They are just in the distance and when you look at them they morph and fly away.

Theres a shader effect in Borderlands 4 where the object or animal dissolves and if you have a low framerate + frame generation + AI upscaling, the systems hallucinate wildly in the fake between frames and your digital reality becomes unstable around that object as it disappears
January 14, 2026 at 8:31 PM
Just found out I've been playing Borderlands 4 with frame generation on. Turns out the game actually can only hit 40fps on my pc and it's just lying to my eyes about 1/3rd of the reality it presents to me. That explains why sometimes it felt weird, and things would seem immaterial or fake-r

Oh yeah let me worry about the next election when the current regime is killing people today. THAT will help. Good job moron

"This would have happened to me no matter who you voted for!" She shouted as the third bullet entered her brain
January 14, 2026 at 4:16 PM
very funny to still be talking about the election to get a W on your own team. Really helping the rebellion against fascism by bringing up the past to dunk on a black woman who lost anyway

Iran just killed as many people as the entire population of my home town
