Amateur cynic, semi-professional misanthrope, part-time optimist, still waiting for the mothership to do her thing. Liberals, don't bother follow me. Your stupidity and indifference helped usher in a new era of fascism. ๐Ÿ‡ต๐Ÿ‡ธ ๐Ÿด๓ ง๓ ข๓ ท๓ ฌ๓ ณ๓ ฟ

Libs and 'blue wave' folk look forward to the end of the Trump regime, when a glorious Democratic resurgence installs a Dem as president, offering CHANGE! Then the US can again enjoy a utopian American civility, free of rapacious corporations, oligarchy, homelessness, debt slavery & endless war. LOL
He lost one night of sleep. But he's bankrolled by the people who are ensuring that thousands of Palestinian children lose their limbs to American and Israeli munitions.

Which is *precisely* why that 25 hour-long filibuster didnโ€™t mean shit to me. Folks want a hero so bad, that theyโ€™ll look at anyone as heroic right now.
Cory Booker having his constituents kicked out , with police escort, from his town hall for protesting his genocidal foreign policy, after playing charades for 25 hours in Congress, is really just the least surprising thing of the year so far.
Absolute scumbag.
This is true. But between 1942 and 1948 a far better generation of politicians, some with genuine honour, integrity and compassion, at least gave us the Welfare state and our beloved NHS. Unfortunately, it's been decades of political degradation and corruption ever since.
It was unpleasant but entirely normal for me. I just assumed life consisted of such conflicts. But it also gave me exceptional confidence when/if it came to physical confrontations. And that alone has meant I've never had to endure many since.
Uh, not any longer. The brand was sold several years ago to an American conglomerate, and the fuckers immediately reduced the cocoa content in the chocolate. I didn't much care, cos I've always hated that confectionery.
Won't argue with that, of course. As a brown-skinned child, I grew up frequently having to physically fight ignorant, racist kids. On some occasions several at once. And I could not afford to ever lose.
They now mainly concentrate on aircraft turbines and stuff like that.
Not sure. Think we do still manufacture some high-end engines here. But I'd guess that much of what passes for British engineering is in fact an assemblage of foreign (Chinese) made components.
People for whom wealth and status are of primary importance. I drive a beat up old van, and I'm perfectly content with it.
There's nowt wrong with a blowjob, Kev. Or so I'm told. ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜ญ
We used to have some, and a few such as Rolls Royce still remain. But like our American neo-con cousins we went big on financialisation and let our industries die. Now we're in a doom loop of spiralling debt, inflation energy resource depletion, increasing social discontent and political paralysis.
I've long been of the opinion that our Western political elites have all but given up on trying to - or at least appearing to try to - look after the general welfare of citizens. They know it's all going to shit, they can't stop it, and they're grabbing all they can before it all goes down.
Certainly Germany is importing huge amounts of LNG from the US. The destruction of the Nordstream pipeline conveniently assisted the US in securing that trade arrangement. As for us in the UK, oh to be sure, we're royally fucked. Half our GDP is financial services and we have few natural resources.
The hard truth is that, short of using nuclear weapons, the US has now thrown pretty much all it has at its major competitors and adversaries. And none of it has worked or is likely to work. The era of US bullying of the entire world are fast coming to an end. And not before time.
I spent a wonderful 3 month extended holiday in Mexico in 1996. Met my future US wife there. Would highly recommend it. Tho, DF, (Mexico City) is a best experienced briefly.
No news is good news, and the good news is fake.

Now the word 'news' has lost all meaning in my head.
Yep. And it's like the circus IS the town! In fact it's most of the Western world.
Trump isn't playing 3D chess. Trump would lose at tic tac toe if you gave him a three move start.
It's more likely to be an inside job, if he keeps tanking the economy.
They'll be selling that debt and divesting themselves of other US financial assets at an increasing rate. Who wants to invest in an already precarious economy, with an unpredictable and volatile moron President who might seize your assets at any moment to punish you?
