NEW: GoFundMe's rules forbid fundraisers tied to legal funds for violent crimes. One for the ICE agent who killed Renee Good, currently nearing $500K, changed the language in its description after @wired.com reached out (but not in the images at the top of the page, oops) @dell.bsky.social reports:
GoFundMe Ignores Own Rules by Hosting a Legal-Defense Fund for the ICE Agent Who Killed Renee Good
The fundraiser for the ICE agent in the Renee Good killing has stayed online in seeming breach of GoFundMe’s own terms of service, prompting questions about selective enforcement.

It's an ongoing trend. If you don't stand up for your principles, then you don't have any principles.

And others will define them for you. You give up principles, you give up agency and sovereignty. (Personal, organizational or national)

It's a slow surrender.
Canada’s response to the US military operation in Venezuela harms not only international law and global stability, but Canada’s own interests.

If Canada wants international law to protect its sovereignty, it must defend that law everywhere—or risk losing it altogether.

I'm thinking that the media should not bother mentioning the "Yellow" warnings, but treat that as the default for warnings. Then when an orange or red is issued, it will grab people's attention, and illicit appropriate actions to protect life and property?
I must say the yellow snow alerts are puzzling. I learned to avoid it as a child, about 70 years ago 🤔

yes. it's a criminal act to do what twitter is doing.
tbh i think the appropriate response should be more than banned, they should treat it like any other instance of CSAM-- seize the servers and shut the entire company down if it continues.

Do Canadian MPs actually connect with the public on X?

I looked at RTs and views for every tweet* sent by Liberal MPs yesterday

Out of 46 tweets, 21 Liberal MPs racked up a combined 475 retweets

34% had zero RTs. Only 17% got more than 10 RTs

3 tweets accounted for over half of all engagement

So basically the O&G corporations looked at the business case for building a pipeline and decided the numbers just don't work

But Smith still wants Canadian taxpayers to pay for it, while she works to divide Canada and give Alberta to her buddy Trump

That's nuts

I hope to have an interview every week for the entire year. So far, I’ve received a “yes” for every request

We’re starting to see a pattern in Mark Carney’s approach to policy: Superficial, immediate-gratification programs that seem clever but ignore or worsen underlying problems.
Paul Wells noted something similar in the summer w/r/t Carney’s approach to public sector reform, IIRC.
