lrp yah this is why I start with what I'm inspired by when writing or trying to plan projects by wearing my inspirations on my sleeve. yeah my visual novel project I'm gonna make with my friend is gonna be escaflowne meets fmdm meets nausicaa. that's fine. it'll become unique as we go along

This also applies to cartoons and comics and basically everything. It doesn’t matter if you have a concept of something already out there. If you love it, do it. Your work will have your unique mark on it by virtue of being made by YOU. (Also two cakes.)

Nothing against people who want to talk about this but do you ever get the impression that we are being played into a vision of this as the last or only significant moment in a trans life? The frustration and confusion, the break, the becoming. One lives a whole life after, and recontextualizes

An under-discussed aspect of the State of Games Narrative is that a lot of AAA game dialog has a stilted, disjoint sort of feel to it because it was *structured* by a narrative designer/scripter first, and then a writer took a pass to write the actual lines without being able to rearrange anything.
