at least on most other sites most of the people who'd get into arguments with me were pretty obviously shitty and while they did twist my words they didn't try to convince me that I was arguing against the things I was arguing for

so it makes me feel a lot worse when I'm arguing with someone and they're trying to twist what I've said into being bigoted or are trying to say that some innocuous opinion is indicative of shitty beliefs that I don't hold even though I know they're deliberately and knowingly doing that

I think tumblr gets to me in a way that other social media with really discourse-brained people doesn't as much because on there people will use performative leftist aesthetics and I'm someone who's very easy to make feel guilty unless I'm arguing with someone cartoonishly evil

In regards to Hurt I've always slightly liked the NIN version more but I'm of the opinion that they're so tonally different that it's hard to even say one is superior, but I definitely understand the feeling that Johnny Cash's version is better because it's so raw
