My head remains of the view that I should ignore the flags that are now all over where I live. But my heart contracts with fear and sadness every time I see one. They are doing exactly what those flying them want: making people like me feel unwelcome and miserable.

Good points here as always by @jimdickinson.bsky.social. But I have a fundamental objection to having to parse regulatory expectations by listening to podcasts or reading comments in press articles. If the OfS wants to give this level of guidance, it should do so formally.
